Item arrived as advertised. It fit our 2021 Prius AWD. We've had a rash of CC thefts and wanted to do something to deter or at least slow down would-be thieves. We had to purchase a Floor Pan Reinforcement Brace (Toyota part no. 57533-47030) since the car only had one of the two braces needed for installation. The reinforcement brace didn't come with the bolts needed to attach it to the car so I had to run to the auto store and pick those up. Put the car up on the ramps and spent a couple of hours working in a tight space drilling holes to secure the shield to the reinforcement braces. I don't think this shield will not stop a determined thief with the right tools and enough time. Its removal should be troublesome enough to make the thief move on to look for an easier target. Satisfied with the purchase. We'll have to wait and see if it actually deters a thief.
Came with everything we needed and Wasn’t difficult to install
Purchased this cat security plat for my daughter's '18 Prius. While not super sturdy or thick, it will do the job of being a deterrent for a cat theft. My only issue for this setup is the hardware supplied for the install. The plate is fastened to 2 cross members . Granted these cross members are thin walled and made of aluminum so the metal is soft and the plate cannot be fastened security by screws alone. This is where the supplied rivets come into play. The rivets are a solid choice. My issue is the additional security screws that were supplied. The type of security screws supplied are those Philipps head screws that can only be turned clockwise. This type of security screws are the worst invention that man has ever created. If you ever need to perform maintenance and need to remove the security plate, these security screws are extremely difficult to get out. They should have supplied security screws that use a bit "key" to install and remove making future maintenance much easier. I threw away the supplied security screws and purchased "Screwd" security screws for the install Other than the supplied screws, I really like the actual plate and will perform as intended..
It has 2 rivets, 2 self tapping screws, and 2 flat head screws. If the owner or a shop ever needs to service the vehicle in the cat area, the screw will need to be broken or drilled out. The installation is not too hard, but make sure you have your car in jack stands to avoid injuries because the car is really low.
